The directory /var/log/dist-upgrade is emtpy. Perhaps the reason for this is that I do not use apt-get to perform package upgrades. I have a bash alias which updates the package lists and then runs "sudo aptitude --with-recommends install".
Instead, I have rolled into a tar.bz2 archive all the files in the directory apt/ and all the files aptitude*. It is attached. I manually inspected the config file reporting the error. The error was in the translation of the "sidepanel" string into BN_in which, IIRC, refers to Bengali/India. (Fortunately, I have a close friend from Calcutta/Kolkatta:-) ). I do not read the script and cannot analyse the error further. The package evolution was automatically installed on my system. I am a long-time user of a maildir client and have never tried evolution. I may "test-drive" it at some point, and therefore purged the package and reinstalled it. The problem raised in this bug-report disappeared. ** Attachment added: "brm_upgrade_logs.tar.bz2" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/15160471/brm_upgrade_logs.tar.bz2 -- Evolution: 2.22.2-0ubuntu1.2 : post-install error https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/238058 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
