OK, please backup your whole $HOME/.mozilla directory for later
analysis. Then:
1. stop firefox
2. find $HOME/.mozilla/firefox -name localstore.rdf
=> remove the files you get here
(3. if that didnt help, also try to remove:
find $HOME/.mozilla/firefox -name XUL.mfasl
find $HOME/.mozilla/firefox -name compreg.dat
find $HOME/.mozilla/firefox -name extensions.\*
)
