I don't see any reason to remove freepops-updater-fltk, it has been included 
for user who don't have a GTK+ based desktop environment.
For those who have, there is now freepops-updater-gnome.
Neither of the two is a depends/recommends of freepops so you don't have to 
worry about extra libraries, just don't install the one you don't want/need.
