I've experimented a little with the Hardy LiveCD. It seems that the partitioner seeks for a device wich crashes the whole system. If i try to install with the ubuntu installer ubiquity the system freezes completely at the step descibed above. No mousemovement is possible, the system simply does not response to nothing. (Never seen before that linux crashes - very strange!)
The same happens if i start gparted or partman manually: while seeking for devices the whole system crash. If i start gparted with a device option: " gparted /dev/sda " then ist starts normally and partionioning works well on that device... I haven't found yet wich device causes the system to crash but i try it in the next days. Perhaps there is a commandline option to tell the partitioner wich device it only should have to use? -- system installation stops at 46% on partitioner step 3 of 7 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/159698 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
