Same error on Gutsy 7.10 (2.6.22-14-generic). Today is the first time
I've attempted to use Evolution since:

Upgraded the following packages:
evolution (2.12.1-0ubuntu1.1) to 2.12.1-0ubuntu1.3
evolution-common (2.12.1-0ubuntu1.1) to 2.12.1-0ubuntu1.3
evolution-plugins (2.12.1-0ubuntu1.1) to 2.12.1-0ubuntu1.3
and I receive:
$ evolution
CalDAV Eplugin starting up ...

(evolution:7243): evolution-smime-WARNING **: Failed all methods for
initializing NSS
(evolution:7243): camel-WARNING **: Failed to initialize NSS
$ apt-cache policy libnss3-0d
libnss3-0d:
Installed: 3.11.5-3
Candidate: 3.11.5-3

100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
Reinstalling libnss3-0d fixes the problem for me.
