0.2 distributed via the repositories is a no go, it still shows the old
brown splash, even though the preview is with a black background.

The new 0.3 that can be downloaded from launchapd is not with a black 
background. The pictures consists of a nice ubuntu logo on all black background 
(that fills a little more than the logo), but the surrounding "blackness" to 
fill out the png's are filled with errors of some kind:
640*480 + 1365*768(scaled): a slanted grey area going from bottom left to top 
right on both sides of the logo.  
800*600 + 1024*768: several small grey spots and "rifts" all over the screen. 
It looks like some kind of picture manipulation error.

The logo can easily be cut out and places on an all black background.
Other than that, the new logo is great. but some colors in "ubuntu"
would look great.
