Wel I do not know how to reproduce it. I just decided to reinstall my Linux system. So I formatted the hard drive and installed the Linux. As my sound card does not work with standard kernel, I enabled the hardy- proposed and hardy-backports repositories and made update. Then
1. open nautilus 2. go to Edit->Preferences and check the box for Show hidden and backup files 3. At this point nautilus does not show files 4. Restart nautilus 5.
