Inspecting the exported symbols from the old and new versions of the
alsa-lib package, I see a significant number of symbols that are dropped
in 1.0.16 relative to 1.0.15. These are accounted for in the changelog
and the source under the heading of "make local functions really local";
none of them are exported in the public API headers, and upstream didn't
believe it necessary to bump the library SONAME when making this change,
so I'm comfortable with moving forward as far as the ABI in concerned.
