Public bug reported:

Today in intrepid I saw that the intel driver did took the place of the
i810 driver.

However, now if I close and open my lid, or if I wait for gnome-power-
manager to suspend my monitor, the whole system hard freeze. Keyboard
and mouse don't respond anymore, the only way out is the power button.

I've got an IBM Thinkpad G40.
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated
Graphics Device (rev 01)

I tried to search in the logs (Xorg.0.log.old, old messages, debug,
dmesg... logs) for errors, but nothing shows there.

This seems to be a critical bug. Always reproducible for me. Very nasty.

** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
