hello,

no, xsane refuses to open --> same error message

error failed to open device 'snapscan:libusb:002:008':invalid argument

going further, in /etc/sane.d/snapscan.conf there is

# Agfa Snapscan e50
usb 0x06bd 0x208f

should there be in /dev/usb some file/reference to usb scanners?
(mentioned on sane's documentation re backends ?). so far in /dev/usb
there is hiddev0.

is there in kernel config any reference to this usb device ? where in
/proc is there any ref to this device ?

regards,
peter b
