Public bug reported:
It started a couple of weeks ago. I think it was on some updating
process. The problem is that when I start to work, there are no problems
at all. But for some reason that I can't identify, the terminal window
don't finish to launch, the same thing happens with text editor and some
other window I cant remember now. Some time later that, the Desktop bar
and all items starts to not respond. The Desktop start to not respond
little by little. I have to go to a terminal by key in Ctrl+Alt F2 for
example and make a shutdown -h now, and restart Ubuntu, and the story
starts to repeat again. Its a little uncomfortable to work like that. I
hope we can find the problem and fix it.
I'm really up to date, I always install all updates no matter what. A
little comment on that. I have a package on the Update manager that I
can't install. The package name is libgtk1.2. It's disabled so I cant
select it, the rest of updating packages come and be installed but this
one remains there.
My Ubuntu is Hardy Heron 8.04. Tell me if you need more information.
Regards,
Andres Navarro
