I'm not sure how this can be fixed within cryptsetup, but I see the
following workarounds:
- use the /lib/cryptsetup/askpas script to ask for a passphrase
- open the script with openvt to ensure a new VT is available.
I'm marking this bug therefore as wontfix. If you disagree and have a
patch at hand, feel free to reopen it with your proposed patch to this.
