I just installed xp and see if agfa snapscan e50 works or is defective; yes it does work with no problems.
- I noticed that after shutting down the pc after the xp run the scanner front panel light went off contrary to hardy shutdown - the light was always on on scanner panel (as it does on the usb wifi dongle) - question - is this normal after hardy pc shutdown ? is the scanner reset at power up and hardy boot ? - then I powered up the pc and boot into hardy, first surprise, --> the panel light came up and the scanning light moved during boot up as well as during hardy loading and .... after hardy was up and running another surprise greeted me ----> xsane loaded with no problems. - after this experience it appears that scanner resetting process at boot and/or hardy load PRIOR to xsane load did not take place the way xsane expects it to. why did it work flawlessly after xp shut it down ? and not before ? - another point, xsane on the help page mentiones ver 1 and above while the repo is still at 0.995 --> is there any chance to get a more recent version (1 or above) on hardy repo please ? I'll keep an eye on xsane for a while --> load xsane daily, do at least one scan and report results. peter b -- scanner port detection https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/239930 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
