It is probable your mouse is USB 1.1 and the kernel you have installed only has
the USB 2.0 support enabled.
Can you send us the output of lsusb? (lsusb > lsusb.log)
Also the kernel version you're running? (uname -a > uname.log)
Just in case, can you try connecting the mouse to another computer, to
make sure it's not the mouse itself that's broken?
