i have recently installed ubuntu studio 8.04 and my audio out works fine but
recording doesn't. this is what happens when i try to start alsa mixer
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/michael# alsamixer
alsamixer: function snd_mixer_load failed : no such file or directory
i got audacity to record using alsa but i had to run it through a analog mixer
and turn the volume on the mixer all the way up and the recording wasn't very
loud.and alsa mixer won't start so i can't turn the recording volume on my
laptop.
