I tried to purge kvm:
$ sudo aptitude purge kvm
The problem was that it didn't remove the conf files:
/etc/udev/rules.d/45-kvm.rules
/etc/kvm/utils/kvm
/etc/kvm/kvm-ifup
/etc/init.d/kvm
Looks like the postrm command "update-rc.d kvm remove" did not work
