Pascal, this is still a problem with Ubuntu 8.04. I haven't had a chance to test Intrepid.
A couple of other things I noticed: - After the mouse or keyboard has stopped working it does not start working again if I plug it into the PCI card. I have to reboot to get them working again. - If I run lsusb after the mouse has stopped working it hangs and doesn't return any output. I was unable to kill or kill -9 the lsusb process (although I didn't try sudo kill). Someone suggested to me that this may be a faulty hardware problem. This is a dual boot machine and I don't have the same problem with Windows XP. It was suggested that Windows may be more forgiving to usb hardware whereas Linux expects the usb hardware to behave in a certain way and it causes problems when it doesn't. I have no idea whether this is a feasible explanation for the problem or not. Also, is it worth renaming the bug to "usb device stops working ..." as if affects both the mouse and keyboard. -- usb mouse stops working after a short while https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/148589 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
