Public bug reported:
Within Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron version, I have found that when playing
music in Rhythmbox I cannot play any other form of audio from Firefox or
any other programme that uses audio. So long as that sole programme is
being used for sound no other application can play audio.
Before I freshly installed 8.04 I could play from multiple audio
programs i.e. using Youtube and Rythmbox at the same time, but since
installing, I haven't been able to.
I have made sure I'm on ALSA and not OSS and have tried reverting to the
PulseAudio but nothing has worked.
