Worked fine fine for me on a Hardy server install.
/etc/webalizer/webalizer.conf has LogFile /var/log/apache2/access.log.1.
Thought interestingly, if I'm reading everything correctly, on Harder
Server per /etc/cron.daily/webalizer, webalizer will run once a day.
But per /etc/logrotate.d/apache2 the log is only rotated once a week.
That seems kind of silly...
Perhaps the defaults should change and webalizer should use:
LogFile /var/log/apache2/access.log
Incremental yes
And maybe also:
HideURL *.js
HideURL *.css
HideURL *favicon.ico
