Public bug reported:

I use Intrepid Ibex. Some days (using 2.6.24-19-generic) ago an update
broke my initrd so I could no longer boot. After waiting a long time
waiting for the root device the system dropped to a initrd shell. I
managed to boot with the backup of my initrd. I hoped the update to
2.6.26 would have fixed it, but id didn't. Which further information can
I provide to help to locate and fix this bug?
