Public bug reported:
I recently changed the default language of my desktop to be Chinese in
order to test Chinese support. Now when I go back to the Language
Selector and try to change it back to English I cannot tell which
selection is English because all the language names are written in
Chinese characters. To be more specific, I mean the language selection
drop-down near the bottom of the dialog, not the list of available
languages above.
If I chose another language from the list the display does not change,
so cannot even cyle through the choices to get the right one. In order
for the changes to take effect I must reboot everytime. This is going
to take a long time. :-(
It would be nice if all languages were written in their native character
(to the extent that the character is installed on the system). I
believe this is how the language selection works in the oem-config-gtk
package.
