Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: busybox-initramfs
I put in the 8.04 live cd (both the 32 and 64 do this)
after i select an boot option it shows the Ubuntu loading screen then crashes
to the BuzyBox initramfs prompt.
it is not a bad burn as i have tried the same cd in my other computers and it
works fine.
also note that before i tried using the live cd to make a fresh install of
8.04, i used the update manager to update from 7.10 which did run on my
computer. After the install/upgrade was complete (and i restarted) i got the
same buzybox prompt as i do with the live cd.
also note that when in grub if i select the previous kernel i can load
into Ubuntu 8.04 just fine. So perhaps the problem is with the kernel?
I have attached a copy of my grub menu so you can see the two different
kernels i am running. I also attached a copy of my hardware profile. If
i need anything else please let me know
busybox error:

finally i get this error only when using the live cd this comes after the
buzybox prompt:
