It is just a theory but I think that the freezing of the Operating System could be somehow related to microprocessor, harddisks, memory or motherboard overheating. If that was the case, the term "freezing" would be completely inaacurate (I a m trying to find my sense of humour about it however it is not funny at all when you have been working heavily and Hardy gets harder...)
