After hundreds of Xubuntu updates, the problem still exists. Can't unlock shared folders.
I am able to share folders by manually editing which is pretty laborious for me, sudo vim /etc/samba/smb.conf, having saved a copy, fumble around, guess what to change based on the comments, save changes, check what is/isn't shared by going onto another linux pc on our local lan, repeat. Classic trial and error. I'd append what I was able to get to work here, but I'm not confident it is the correct syntax. Is this the best Ubuntu can do? I have problems sharing folders with Hardy both Xubuntu and Ubuntu......it works O.K. on Gutsy, Feisty, Edgy, Dapper, ... but not Hardy. Progress.
