This is most likely not required. My guess is that you have a
timestamp issue for your files in your profile and thus firefox doesnt
recognize that there as an upgrade and doesnt recreate the required
cache files in your profile. You can probably fix this by either
touching all your profile files or the system installed one
(depending on where and in which direction you have the time screw).
