Hi Chris Follow these steps
1] select any element on the slide (say photo) by clicking on it. 2] Right click on the selected element the menu appears. choose "custom animation" probably sixth from bottom. 3] Custom animation pane appears on right side. 4] Press "Add"button. A dialog box appears. It has four tabs namely "Entrance", "Emphasis","Exit" and "Motion Path" From "Entrace" choose any one effect, say "box", probably second from top, and click "ok". 5] Now "Effect box" appears on the right. Under "direction" two buttons appear. The second button displays "..." (first dot underlined). Click it. 6] "Effect options" dialog box appears on top of slide. It has two tabs "Effect" and "Timing". Choose "Effect" tab. There is a list box after the word "Sound". This box gives list of default sounds and at the end of list an entry "other sound". Choose any one default sound or other sound from your machine. After you select a sound play button to right of this list box becomes active. Press it and you can hear the sound (default or any other sound". Click "OK" Now sound is attached to animation. Press "F5", slide show starts. As the animation of our interest starts sound should play. I found how to make the sound play during the entire slide if inserted like a normal element (right click on it and send it to back), but then that puts the ugly white box on the slide as well.
