No, I've got a serial number and a part number on the underside, but "c700" _is_ the specific model number. (Part number KX530AV) I expect your machine and mine are cousins, however, and may have much the same motherboard.
I'll watch for that behavior on a cold boot, but I expect your description applies to mine too.
