Public bug reported:

I use NetworkManager to control an OpenVPN connection.

The DNS settings are received by OpenVPN, NetworkManager and resolvconf,
but it seems like the running DHCP Client (dhclient) overwrites the
/etc/resolv.conf settings when it expires - and on some connections it
do expire quite often, which forces me to either update the
/etc/resolv.conf myself or reconnect my OpenVPN.

It would be nice with some kind of way to tell the dhclient not to
update /etc/resolv.conf when NetworkManager has an active VPN
connection. I guess it's also a problem with VPNC or PPTP (if they
supply DNS options).
