Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

Per this illustrious thread:
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/compiz/2008-June/003165.html

platform:

  - Linux heptones 2.6.24-16-generic #1 SMP
            Thu Apr 10 13:23:42 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux
 - Sony Vaio VGN-FZ130E
 - Ubuntu 8.04
 - I don't know how to extract video chip or driver settings!

steps to reproduce:

 - warm up Kubuntu via KDE 3.0
 - turn on the Windows keystroke emulation
    [Keyboard & Mouse - System Settings ->
Keyboard Shortcuts -> Shortcut Schemes ->
         Windows Scheme (With Win Key)]
 - sudo aptitude install compizconfig-settings-manager
 - sudo aptitude install compiz-core
     (yesterday's versions ;)
 - tap <Graphic+M> to Minimize All Windows

observed behavior:

 - everything disappears except grey ghosts of the
     wallpaper and kicker.
 - After that, any input that should raise a window
instead raises a dark rectangle with nothing painted
into it. Clicking into this hits invisible buttons.

expected behavior:

 - The windows should minimize (via whatever melodramatic
     animations are necessary)
 - <Alt+Tab> should raise minimized windows

Did the Minimize All Windows simply surprise Compiz?

** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
