Public bug reported: Binary package hint: virtualbox-ose
Host: Kubuntu 8.04 (Hardy) (Linux 2.6.24-19-generic #1 SMP Wed Jun 4 15:10:52 UTC 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux) virtualbox-ose 1.5.6-dfsg-6ubuntu1 virtualbox-ose-modules-2.6.24-19-generic 24.0.4 Guest: Linux 2.6, 384Mb RAM, 32GB disk (variable size) booting from ubuntu-8.04-desktop-i386.iso (downloaded from ubuntu.com) While installing Ubuntu, it only gets to the part where it starts copying files. I reproduced the issue 3 times, and it seems it's crashing on slightly different places, but always when it starts copying files (after partitioning). The two first attempts it was left unattended once copying started, so I thought it might be related to this: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/virtualbox-ose/+bug/206615 However, on the 3rd attempt, I not only let it be in the foreground but also moved the mouse (inside the VM) every now and then. It still crashed at 523MB installed. A 4th attempt using Ubuntu 7.10 produced the same result. Log entries after crash: !!Assertion Failed!!
