1) can you please try with any of the following :
$openoffice -writer
or
$ ooffice -writer
or
$ ooffice -writer %U
or
$ sudo openoffice -writer
2) if #1 does not work:
can you rename the folder ".openoffice.org2" to something else and
reinstall OpenOffice again.
3) if #1 and #2 do not work, try :
$ sudo chown -R [your-username] .openoffice.org2
