i can confirn this. i recently looked into the d3lphin sources because of 
another bug (slashes in folder names...) and by chance saw the code which 
replaces "~" with the home directory.
so, if i find the time (and motivation) then i´ll try to fix this too, as this 
hopefully is not as complicated as the other one i´m trying to fix.
but if anyone wants to work this one out just contact me - i can tell you some 
starting points...
