Hi, I understand. However, my display forwarding is on LAN, even on the same hardware from virtualized guests to host. Therefore, even though ssh -Y works, using it doesn't make sense as it adds overhead to the communication make things slow down.
The main issue is that, to generalize, the change that I make in /etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc (local server start options) is not taken into account somehow when the genkdmconfig script is run from /etc/init.d/kdm start command.
