  I set my power profile to Conservative both on a SUID gnome-applet and 
gconf-editor
  but recently it started losing it setting and defaulting to Ondemand.
  
  on gconf-editor i get a "This key as no schema" for /apps/gnome-power-
  manager/cpufreq/policy_ac
  
  gnome-power-manager ver:2.23.1-0ubuntu1
+ gconf-editor ver: 2.22.0-1ubuntu1
+ gnome-applets ver:2.23.3-0ubuntu1
