Could you please run (in a termianl):
$ sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/partial/* /var/lib/apt/lists/*
$ sudo apt-get update
this might be a corrupted download or problems with the computer (bad
RAM). Please let me know if the above fixed the problem.
