Public bug reported:
With Edgy RC1, my wireless card (Netgear WG311T) does not work. Worked
fine with dapper, breezy and hoary. Works fine with other linuxes (e.g.
latest pclinuxos)
lspci shows that the relevent module (atheros) has been loaded:
01:00.0 Ethernet controller Atheros Communications Inc AR5212 802.11abg
NIC (rev 01)
Latest version of linux restricted modules has been installed.
Kernel is 2.6.17-10
iwconfig shows a number of devices including ath0 (and a new device
called wifi0).
iwlist ath0 scan correctly lists nearby access points
iwconfig ath0 essid myap looks like it will associate (I see stuff about
link quality etc.), but it never actually associates ("Access Point:
Not-Associated" in iwconfig output).
"Rx invalid nwid" figure (from iwconfig output) grows continually.
As I can't associate with the AP, I can't get further, like getting an
ip address from dhcp, or setting up a static one.
I think this is all related to the madwifi-ng stuff.
Looks like lots of others are seeing similar issues..see
