** Description changed: Binary package hint: xorg-driver-fglrx I am using Ubuntu 8.04 on my ThinkPad T60 laptop. The graphical card is ATI Mobility Raedon X1400 so I uses ATI fglrx driver. When I sets the - console resolution to 1400x1050 by using kernel parameter vga=835, the + console resolution to 1400x1050 by using kernel parameter vga=0x345, the screen starts dithering in console mode. This does not happen if I uses fb driver.
