Sorry.. I don't understand or see what the "GtkRange artifacts" are in
the screen shot that you indicated.
I am looking a the same dialog in Gimp 2.4.5 (in Ubuntu 8.04) and I
can't see any significant difference, so I'm probably missing something.
Are you able to confirm that the artifacts are still there, or have been
removed in the latest version?
