I'm having problems with SOME OpenGL/SDL fullscreen applications causing
black screens. I've gone so far as to run them alone on the X server
with equally poor results. Sometimes there is a full lockup (backlight
off, system responds only to magic sysrq key if that) and sometimes the
app works but just displays a black screen (backlight on) and if you can
un-fullscreen the application everything works fine.
Happens with or without compiz, Xgl, et cetera. Happens with nvidia-glx-
new or nvidia-glx-new-envy (which is what I'm using right now.)
I am using an nVidia Quadro FX1500M (in my laptop.)
