Public bug reported:
My laptop has a dlink DWL-G650 wireless pcmcia card which was supported
by the madwifi drivers from this package in Dapper. It worked flawlessly
in Dapper but does not work with the release candidate for edgy. There
are numerous error messages in dmesg to the effect that symbols in ath
modules are not recognized. I used the standard x86 livecd for edgy and
everything else appears fine.
The entry from lspci is
0000:02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications, Inc. AR5212
802.11abg NIC (rev 01)
This laptop also has another (non-functioning) atheros chip built in
wireless card.
Note: the original reporter indicated the bug was in package 'linux-
restricted-modules-2.6.17-9-generic'; however, that package was not
published in Ubuntu.
