after seveal times playing around with all the options i ran sudo dpkg --force-remove-reinstreq -P courier-authdaemon
this removed the pkg but it kept the directory i rebooted and once in X update manager recomended a dist-upgrade saying it had not been completed, i did and rebooted and now it seems i am fully running edgy.... i recomend closing this since we are not sure what went wrong in the original update you guys are the expert and can decide, if you want more info from be dont hesitate to ask -- fail to upgrade to edgy https://launchpad.net/bugs/67209 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
