Hi Dereck

I'm writing you concerning the Ubuntu bug which I submitted via the
launchpad.net (bug 241236 frozen system after few hours of
inactivity).

Presently I'm not sure if my bug report was correct. Previously I was
too busy to do careful HW test myself and thus I asked for it the
company which delivered the computer. They reported that HW is o.k.
and this I mentioned also in the bug report.

Now I repeated memory test again myself and after few hours of testing
it observed some errors. Afterwards I asked for new RAM modules and
after repleacement the system is running already three days fine.
(previously it was usually frozen every night). However I don't
understand why the erroneous RAM modules should have some influence
during the time when computer is INACTIVE and not when it was fully
loaded (e.g. by compilation of Qt libraries or by some RAM consuming
scientific calculations) .

Nevertheless presently I can not exclude that it was only HW problem
and I would like to cancel this bug report for this time. Now I'm
going to install back all previously un-installed packages (e.g.
scrensavers, compiz etc.) If the problem will appear again I will
submit it back.

Is there some way how I can close the bug report?

I'm sorry for inconvenience.

cheers
Smyon Pa
