My mainboard is an ASUS P5LD2-X/1333.
This is what is coming out all the time in syslog/dmesg

I did get the ubuntu-alternate installer cd working fine, but after
installation I could not see the DVD drive anymore.
Did an update and install a new kernel but it is still not working.

lshw attached.
I also see that BIOS detect the CD as Primary Slave and My hard-disk as
Third Master (or something like that).
