I just tried to reproduce the same inside a VirtualBox Windows XP Pro
SP3 installation and Ubuntu boot menu installed successfully and worked
as expected, under Windows XP SP3. Can you attach your C:\boot.ini file
so we can see if there is extra/missing parameters?
