Can i confirm that this bug is occurring with the latest version of firefox as
well? (apt-cache firefox-3.0 will show that it is 3.0+nobinonly-0ubuntu2).
If you have desktop effects enabled, could you disable it (Go to
System->Preferences->Appearance->Visual Effects and click on None) and check if
this problem occurs again?
Also could you try with a new profile and see if it is a profile/extention
related issue? Instructions are available at

In addition, could you also tell us how do you reproduce the bug so that we can
try to reproduce it on our end.
