I am not sure I can follow, but I guess your testcase is good enough to forward upstream ... Please file this bug upstream (bugzilla.mozilla.org). use the "Core -> Layout Images" Component to file this against. Please do a search on the advanced page (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/query.cgi) against that componnet first to prevent filing a duplicate.
