I've seen that number before...other people have a problem with it. See for example bug 178530. You may want to try enabling the hardy-backports repository (I think it's called "unsupported upgrades") and getting the updated driver (iwl3945) from that, but I can't guarantee that it will work. Does the other laptop use the same chipset?
