I am experiencing a system-breaking problem with the LXFB framebuffer
module, a module that autoloads when the system detects my Geode LX
silicon.
LXFB [framebuffer module] causes a black screen when it loads -- making Ubuntu
inaccessible and unusable.
How can LXFB be prevented from loading at boot time ?
I've tried adding "vga=normal", "vga=ask", "nofb" to the grub kernel boot line,
but it didn't stop lxfb from loading.
I've also tried booting from the CD's Ubuntu Rescue Mode to modify my
blacklist-framebuffer file, but that failed because nano doesn't work in rescue
mode.
Because I can't prevent lxfb from loading, the screen turns black. Can't get to
a terminal. Can't fix the problem.
Thanks for your help
