It sounds like you have some sort of raid with windows installed, but
are installing Ubuntu to a non raid disk, is that correct? Then you
just install the dmraid package and nothing else? You did not modify
your /boot/menu.lst or anything did you?
Can you post the output of dmraid -b and fdisk -l?
