The -i810 driver and the according tool 915resolution is deprecated since Gutsy
and will be removed from future releases. Could you please regenerate your
xorg.conf and remove 915resolution? Just run the command >>sudo
dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg<<, confirm everything with enter and after a
logout the -intel driver should be used which should automatically recognizes
wide screen resolutions.
If the issue still happens with the new xorg.conf and removed 915resoltuion
please open a new bug report against the package xserver-xorg-video-intel and
attach your file /var/log/Xorg.0.log.
